Freight Forwarding

Consolidation / LCL service

LCL is today the main line of focus in the freight forwarding business, as mass markets move to niche markets of customized fragmentation. So you’ve got a small load of cargo, but you still want the economies of scale obtained through large cargo movement. LCL gives you that – this service is the best solution for delivering economically sizable loads of cargoes. We have extensive experience handling both general and specialized shipments including both inbound and outbound shipments.

We close own console boxes to various destinations from Chittagong Port. Overseas too, we offer such services in Europe, UK, Africa, China and Hong Kong – consolidating cargoes to all parts of the world.

Furthermore, if you have a large number of suppliers with small consignments destined for different locations, we can consolidate them in FCL shipping containers, and coordinate the consignments, thus, saving you time and money.

NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier)

Our NVOCC division is one of the fastest growing in the business, the division acts in true NVOCC tradition – like a carrier but without operating the vessels ourselves. In other words, we have service contracts with vessel-operating carriers that enable us to offer our customers competitive freight rates.

Global shipping is a tricky activity and the NVOCC division helps its customers by de-complicating matters for them in an efficient and service-oriented manner, and has in the process earned itself a strong reputation.

Custom Broking / Custom Handling Agents

BCM’s core business started with Custom Broking and over years of fine-tuning, we have honed our skills and are highly efficient in this area. A dedicated and strong team, richly experienced, is available for handling all commodities. In Bangladesh hold License issued by the Customs Authorities for handling both exports and imports as Customs Broker.

Container Freight Station / Inland Container Depot

BCM has contract with 18 Inland Container Depots in Bangladesh and all are nearest Chittagong Port. It comprises over 450,000 sq. ft of Warehouse space including “bonding” facility. Fully “automated” Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) facility, supported by adequate infrastructure facilities make it most efficient in the country. International Standard security arrangements ensure security of cargo.

Fumigation Division

BCM is caring out fumigation of import and export cargo. BCM has been accorded with accreditation under BSTI by the Ministry of Industry, Government of Bangladesh. Fumigation is a process of exposing insects or material infested by insects to the fumes of a chemical at a lethal strength in an enclosed space for a given period of time. The fumes kill the insects prevalent and thus preserve the precious cargo of the customer.

Fumigation is a specialized service and ignorance of this activity can lead to serious consequences for cargo. Most leading cargo destinations around the world are particularly fastidious about the quality of fumigation. Improper fumigation can lead to stringent penalties and costs on account of delayed or rejected cargo. Hence it is best to entrust this to a trusted organized operator like BCM instead of going to a small-time fly-by-night operator.

Truck / Equipment Operators

The Truck Operating / Equipment Division has at its command an impressive range of terminal and cargo handling equipment that perform vital functions and give BCM the competitive edge in terms of both performance and cost. The BCM has contract with 100 Vendors comprising chassis with prime-movers, cranes ranging in lifting capacity of 8 to 75 tons, fork-lift trucks, reach stackers and log loaders.

We know the business and therefore leverage the flexibility of having our own vehicles plus market-available ones to offer our customers the most optimal trucking and cargo movement services.

Other Services Offered by BCM

Container cost is one of the most important items of a container shipping company’s total costs. The basic elements of container cost include long-term capital investment and the day-to-day operations cost. Equipment supply is necessary for liner shipping companies to secure cargoes. Carriers must supply the right containers at the right time and in right place to shippers. To manage empty containers, it is necessary to have an understanding of the operations cost involved. The cost of maintaining containers includes equipment cost, storage cost, movement cost, and administrative cost. Managing empty containers efficiently is the goal for all the parties involved in the container transport chain.

Recently all Carriers in Bangladesh are facing severe congestion in Terminal and Off Docks. As a result, Storage Cost increases day by day for non-movement.

Even Carrier is unable to moves empty container from the Terminal to desired fdr Vessels and Off Docks for congestion and forced shipment on any other fdr vessel by Chittagong Port Authority.

Bangladesh Container Management is introducing a complete solution and save cost in all aspect.

 
 

BCM is also coordinating between Off Docks & Berth Operators to ensure that empty/Export laden containers are loading on nominated fdr vessels from the Off docks.

BCM is coordinating with Berth Operator to ship empties from the Terminal/Off Docks as per shipment advised by Carriers.

BCM is trying to load empties on nominated fdr vessel from the date of un-stuffing container within “O” days when vessel is available and ready for loading empties.

BCM is stacking empty containers in separate places in the Terminal MLO wise after un-stuffing import cargo which will help on board Vessel and moves to Off Docks for ex-cargo stuffing conveniently.
